Successful Meeting with the Parish Council in Torit

Sudan Sunrise is in South Sudan!

  For the week of March 10-18th, we are in Juba and Torit, South Sudan regarding our interreligious reconciliation project in Torit. We are working on an initiative to rebuild a Catholic cathedral that had been twice-destroyed by Islamists. Torit Cathedral Update

Sudan Sunrise has received a moving letter inviting us to Torit to work on plans to restart the initiative led by Rudwan Dawod to use Muslim volunteers to rebuild the Torit Cathedral. Because of his leadership in this initiative, Rudwan was imprisoned in Sudan and tortured for helping to rebuild Christian churches.
