2006 - Sudan Sunrise co-sponsored
"Standing Together Against Genocide" dinner
in Washington, DC,
attended by hundreds of Sudanese,
both Darfurian Muslims
and Southern Sudanese
Christians.
2007- Nearly 40 Sudanese leaders
gathered
in Kansas City, Missouri
in July
for a Conference on Sudanese Reconciliation
and in Washington, DC in November
for "Call to Solidarity."
2008 - Team travels
to South Sudan to film
message of reconciliation with former slave Francis
Bok
and Dr. Abdelgebar Adam, President, Darfur Human
Rights
Organization of the USA, and the video
"Call to Sudanese Reconciliation" premiered
at the
South Sudan Women's Empowerment
Network Conference
in Juba

Sudanese Reconciliation
Our mission at Sudan Sunrise is to facilitate
reconciliation among all Sudanese including
supporting the efforts
of Southern Sudanese
Christians to aid Darfurian Muslims and stand with
them in solidarity. Our goals include:

Raising awareness about the current genocide and
suffering in western Darfur, Sudan and
in Darfurian refugee camps on the Chad/Sudan
border and the progress of peace for this region

Furthering reconciliation between Darfurians and
Southern Sudanese and challenging all
Sudanese to stand with Darfurians against the
genocide and for peace in Darfur

Facilitating reconciliation among Sudanese
Muslims, Christians and others in order to help
end oppression and bring a just and lasting
peace to all the people of Sudan

Demonstrating to the Khartoum government and the
world the power of forgiveness,
reconciliation and a united stand for peace
